Vera, CHEN Hsiao-wen
CHEN Hsiao-wen received a bachelor degree
from the department of radio and television and a master degree from the
department of sociology of National Chengchi University. She works in
independent media and workers group. Currently working at Serve the People
Association. 2013-2014 was the president of Youth Labor Union 95. Works include
“The Way to HTC”, “Australian Dream”, and “Sowing on the Track”.
Synopsis
Ponpon is a young sales worker in
department store. When she is at work, the department store supervises and
gives commands to her. The working hour can be as long as 11 hours per day and
can be extended during anniversary sales. Sales workers in department stores
are not allowed to sit or drink and are constantly fined for violating rules.
Ponpon suffered from serious plantar fasciitis that she decided to speak out.
Under the support of Youth Labor Union 95, she expresses her complaint and many
workers echoed. In the near future they would like to form a union to voice
themselves.
